Lamontt has worked in the legal field for over 30 years. During law school, Lamontt worked as a summer clerk at the San Diego Public Defender’s office, defending indigent clients in criminal matters. He also worked as a summer associate at the law firm Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP, as a securities litigation attorney. After graduating law school, he worked as a full-time law clerk at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP. After passing the bar, he was hired as a Staff Attorney, primarily working on major class action securities litigation and consumer fraud cases. He later became Of Counsel at Robbins Geller and currently works with institutional investors with Robbins Geller’s client outreach team. Lamontt is the author of his memoir, Don’t Let Your Past Hold You Back, where he chronicles his past growing up in the inner city, experiencing gang violence, dropping out of high school, being incarcerated as a youth, and ultimately turning his life around and rising from the mailroom to becoming an attorney. Lamontt enjoys being a mentor and speaks regularly about his life’s experiences with the hope of inspiring people to overcome challenging circumstances. Lamontt holds a law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in California, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He lives in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and splits his time between Maryland and California.
